Media Drive Problems

Ok, took over a media drive from a friend that has a fairly big issue.. It cant recognise any media on the drive.

The drive inside has had the partitions formatted in different formats and different sizes. We know that NTFS was the original format of the majority of the drive.

Is there any particular order for partitions etc. we should be aware of for the media drive to recognize the space? At the moment, we can boot into the media menu on the tv but it just wont show any files.

    Thanks!

Western Digital wd20eads. Tried searching around the internet for help on this but no luck.

As it stands, the original partitions are all gone and it's just one big NTFS partition now with all the media on it. The media drive was recognizing the files before the formats.

    Ok, it's the Masscool mp1370s.

After some research on that, could it be as simple as there having to be both an NTFS and FAT32 partition on the drive?

Could be a couple of things. The media files have to be in the correct folders to appear on the TV menus, i.e. movies in the movie folder etc. Also there could be encryption on the drive.

Heres a link to the user manual that explains most of it.

    You get it sorted yet?

Still no luck.. I've created the extra partition like the manual says. The lad bought it from America so it's not easy to send back..

    Any ideas welcome.
