When the dole sends you info on a course...

Is it something decent!

I have been unemployed a few months and desperate to get back out there and work, I recently got a letter for a retail course for unemployed people, I have no interest in retail but am considering doing this course just for something to do until something I like comes up (whenever that will be). But as the dole/job centre are behind it does that mean I will be stuck with a load of messers or will it be just people who are looking for something to do.

They said I will get paid by FAS and they are teaming with something called RAPID - I have never heard of it and can't find anything online about it, does anyone know anything about it?

RAPID (Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development) are agencies in the most deprived areas.

Are there no vacancies on training courses that you are interested in training/upskilling in?

Given the numbers unemployed and that many of them are willing to use the recession as a means of improving themselves, suspect it won't be full of wasters.

RAPID (Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development) is a programme that targets concentrated urban deprivation.

I believe the dole is now reduced to e150 to those that refuse training courses or work offered by social welfare.
