When airport security goes bad...

    Hey,

Just doing a bit of research for a project, and was wondering has anyone ever been delayed because metal detectors in the airport have broken. What would be standard practise if this happened?

Given that most airports have multiple metal detector "doorways", with a few generally out of use, and that they also have wands as well, I can't see it being a big issue unless the electricity is out completely. If there's no electricity anywhere in the airport, security delays would be the least of people's problems
