Selling prints with brand names in shot

    Hi sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find anything in a search.

    Is it OK to sell prints that have brand names in them? All taken in public places.

    Generally yes, assuming they are not the subject of the photo!

    right, so if they are the subject - ie. photo of the Deloitte building or an Aer Lingus airplane - then it is not legal?

    Depends on the purpose of sale. If it's for non-commercial ie as an artistic print, then I think you're okay. If it's for stock photography, I think it's not an option.

    artistic, and don't have time to get clearances for the lot of them!

    You should have no problem.

    Where you could run into issues are logos and stuff that are trademarks and/or copyright. But generally your image would have to be making significant use of either of those.

    Artistic purpose you should'nt have a problem.
