Inappropriate Gifts.

What's the strangest or most inappropriate present you have ever received or given. Last year I received two packs of M+S pasta and two jars of pasta sauce from a friend at Xmas. Now I knew his reason for giving them was for me too explore some new dishes (I'm a spag ball man where pasta is concerned) so I wasn't put out. I know a few people who would take such a gift as an insinuation that they need help with their grocery shopping, or that their poor, and would be highly offended. Back in the day when I was on the dole and smashed I gave a diary to a mate, it cost me a pound and was the size of a matchbox, he wasn't pleased, we can laugh about it now.
And, if you have received an inappropriate gift, would you say something to the giver.

Mattel recently introduced the "Harry Potter Broomstick". It's a battery-powered toy that resembles the flying Nimbus 2000 brooms from the Harry Potter movies. For added effect, the broom makes "flying noises" and vibrates.

After a while on the market, concerned parents noticed that mostly young girls seemed to enjoy the toy especially the umm vibration part.

Here are some of the customer reviews from the Toys R Us website:

This toy was 1 on my daughter's Christmas list. So what the heck, although it has no educational value I figured it would be good for imaginative play. It wasn't until after she opened her gift and started playing with it that I realized that the toy may offer a more than sensational experience. The broomstick has cute sound effects and ***VIBRATES*** when they put it between their legs to fly. Come on---what were the creators of this toy thinking? She'll keep playing with the Nimbus 2000, but with the batteries removed.

My 12 year old daughter is a big Harry Potter fan, and loved the part with the Nimbus 2000, so I decided to buy her this toy. I was afraid she would think it was too babyish, but she LOVES this toy. Even my daughter's friends enjoy playing with this fun toy. I was surprised at how long they can just sit in her room and play with this magic broomstick! A great buy for any Harry Potter fan! :)

When my 12 year old daughter asked for this for her birthday, I kind of wondered if she was too old for it, but she seems to LOVE it. Her friends love it too! They play for hours in her bedroom with this great toy. They really seem to like the special effects it offers (the sound effects and vibrating). My oldest daughter (17) really likes it too! I recommend this for all children.

2 years ago I was living with 2 mates. We decided we'd get each other a few bits. We also stayed in our own family homes on Christmas eve just to be there for the morning etc.

Anywho, I had taken their gifts back with me to open on the day. My two younger sisters went through their few bits first, then it was on to me. A few of mine were not labelled so I was not sure who they were from. I proceeded in opening the first one I got my hand on, only to unveil "The Clone" (as in a replica vagina).

This was what my mate got me! The funny thing is, my parents spotted what it was, and my dad said "I think I've a fair idea who got you that"! Was a bit embarrassing but we saw the funny side of it! :D

We had a Secret Santa amongst my friends and their significant others one year.

My cousin's gf drew me and decided to buy me some 'interesting' underwear which I opened in front of his parents.

My grandparents gave me porn! When I was a child, my grandparents on my dad's side used to give us books every christmas/birthday. One year when I was around 9, I think, they gave me one of those adult romance books that was extremely pornographic. It was just pure smut. They didn't mean to give it to me. I guess someone in the bookshop left it in the wrong section and they just picked it up. They never really paid attention to the books they got us, they were always from the wrong age group so we had to swap them around with younger siblings/cousins. I managed to keep the book for a couple of weeks before any one copped on that I wasn't supposed to have that book! I finally got caught with it when a teacher at school found me and my mates snickering over it in the school playground. No one believed me when I told them where I got it from!
