DC-20 Animal hose

Anyone have one of these Dyson DC-20 Animal vaccums? I purchased one at the weekend began using it yesterday. It works great but I have one little niggle (that I'm not even sure is a niggle). I attached the host to the front of the vacuum as instructed, but the attachment into the side (where the actual hole is) doesn't seem too 'solid'. The hose goes in and appears to stay in, but it seems to be me that it's just sitting there, there's no 'click' and no way to tighten it. I'm therefore not sure that the cleaner is doing all it can do.

I want to check if this is just a feature of the DC-20 before checking with the shop where I bought it and looking a little silly.

Yep, it just seems to be a feature. It doesnt affect suction though.
