Ryanair - Tampere/Dublin

For a couple of months now I've noticed that there haven't been any available flights between Tampere and Dublin. It's something I check quite regularly as I always try to get the family over as often as possible and as cheap as possible. I thought it might have been because of the run-up to Christmas.

But now there's still not a single flight available and I tried looking all the way into August 2010.

Is there something up with their website?

Is it my computer?

Have they taken down the route?

Can it really be so popular?

Any ideas anybody?

Looks like the route is gone. There are no flights scheduled from Tampere to Dublin.

Must be a seasonal service as it restarts on March 28.

But no flights over the Winter period.

Didn't used to be seasonal. In fact my sister and her family came in January 2 years ago and loved it and were planning on February next year. "Seasonal" doesn't make sense as Finland is a winter tourist destination as well as summer.

I've been looking into this route too.

There doesn't seem to be anything available from the after the 28th of March 2010.
Every search throws up a similar error. No flights available between X and Y.

No problems with flying from Stansted though. If you took the Dublin - Stanstead - Tampere return option, a week in April is doable from under €100.

BMI go one way from around €250 with a stopover in Stockholm. Pricey though.

Base

Unfortunately the frequency of this service has been dropping ever since it started really. If I remember correctly it was once 5 x weekly, up to ceasing completely earlier this year.

They had originally released 2 x weekly flights for the current winter period but then cancelled them. Unfortunately it's looking like the same might have just recently happened for next summer's schedule. Up until a week or so ago they had been selling 2 x weekly (Wed. & Sun.) flights but now they've disappeared.

The only glimmer of hope that they may yet be restored in some shape or form is the fact that they are still advertising Tampere on their pricing page - although I fear it's more likely that this is just a mistake and will be updated shortly.

It's a shame. The problem with the Dublin - Stansted - Tampere option is the timing of the Stansted - Tampere flight back.
