    I Currently have a infocus in24+ http://www.infocus.com/Support/Products/Projectors/IN24Plus.aspx

i get about 3000 hours out of a bulb and a new bulb is currently looking at €250.

The current bulb is coming to the end of its life and ive been looking at lcd projectors instead due to the bulbs costing like 8 euro and getting 6000 hours out of a bulb.

does any of you think this http://www.chinavasion.com/product_info.php/pName/hd-multimedia-lcd-projector-120-inch-beauty/ is a worthy replacement for my current projector or any of the other projectors on chinavasion?

ill just blame the recession that i cant afford to be dishing out 250 for a buld every 8-10 months ;)

€8 for an LCD bulb, for what projector, just replaced a bulb in my Panasonic AX200 and it cost me €300.

That Chinavision projector you linked to is not even remotely in the class of your IN24 or any of the currently available LCD projectors from the likes of Panasonic, Sanyo or Epson.

The Chinavision model is more like a toy, it uses a single 3.5" LCD panel with a native resolution of 800x600, and a claimed contrast ratio of 500:1, for whatever that's worth. This type of projector can be found all over ebay with various names and various claims as to the effectiveness - I think it's fair to say that if you're used to the kind of picture you get from your IN24, you would find one of these jobs a serious step-down. If it was me, I'd pay for the new lamp for the IN24, I'd do without a projector before I'd have one of those chinvision yokes (a technical term).

your more than likely right ritz. i must start bargain hunting for a lamp for the IN24. i got one last year for 190 but cant find any for cheaper than 250 this year. so much for the recession busters
