Xbox died , need answer on Xbox live account

    hi all , my xbox died on me , got it looked at and basically it wud b cheaper to get a new one rather that get it repaired , my question is if i get a new xbox can i still use the same xbox live name and will my ranks gamer points etc... b able to transfer on to my new xbox ?? Cheers

    far as i know you just recover your gamertag , im new to xbox's myself but think you just need your gamertag and password and your ready to go

    Yeah, you can put your Live username on the new console. Just select recover gamertag wen you start up the new console. Any online ranks you have should be the same to as these are stored on the games server, IIRC. However game saves won't transfer over

    Just get an arcade and transfer over your hard drive, everything should transfer with it. Its linked to your xbox windows live account so you can move it over with out hassle anyway. The only thing you will notice is that arcade games wont work unless your on live, but you can reauthorise the console to fix this, theres a limit on the number of times you can do this a year though.

    Yeah i did this when my old xbox broke. Just yank out the hard drive, pop it in the new 1 and your good to go. Easy Peasy.
