The filter at the bottom of the water tank is blocked. It could be blocked with a slimey sludge (from mixing different windscreen washer fluids together) or it could be caked in calcium from using hard water.

Try sticking a garden hose into the washer bottle and use the water pressure to try to clean the bottom of the tank. The washer should work again until any dirt settles down again.

Also, the nozzles may be blocked. You could try clearing them with a pin.

What model BMW? Some of the older ones have little "in-line" filters before the nozzles.

Try disconnect the hose that goes onto the bonnet and see if anything comes out when you run the washers.

If the little in-line filters are blocked, you can remove them as a temporary fix, but best to replace them as you'll keep getting blocked nozzles from dirt.
