    Hi all,

After having long hair for the last 10 years of my life (down my back in a pony tail but in recent years cut up above my shoulders), I wish to change my look . My hair is dark brown, slightly curly, slightly receding, and I have a pale complextion...

So I'm either looking for you good boardsies to recommend me a new style, or recommend me a hair consultant (?) that I can go to, so they can recommend me a new cut :)

I have gone to places like Peter Mark before and have asked them what they think, but they just say 'well what would u like me to do with it' = that kind of thing, so I'm looking for someone to.....well...make a descision for me!

    Many thanks
    Joe.

I recommend you go for the Senator Donie Cassidy look, waterproof and lasts for years without the need for a cut/styling:D.
Sorry op just having a laugh.

Could the hairstylist or whatever not recommend a style to you. Maybe buy a mag or two and see if there's anything in there that grabs your fancy.

    Hi

Har-de-har...first suggestion could be just what i need to attract the chicks...:p

Yeah I've looked in magazine and webpages etc...but I find it hard to visualise a hairstyle like that on me... I'm presuming a style that would fit me, would have to take into consideration of my type of hair...my head/face shape....eye shape/colour...all that stuff that I dont understand!

There are websites where you can upload a picture of yourself and check hairstyles. Give them a quick google.

Other than that I would advise going to an expensive but really good hairstylist, paying the money once, and then getting it touched up in normal barbers/hairdressers

Go intot he likes of good salons like Brown Sugar near Stephens green, and they definitely won't say "oh what do you want me to do with it"

Dont think either will work if he has slightly curly hair... unless hes prepared to get the straightners out

Try this website - www.marieclaire.co.uk - gives you a decent enough idea of what the finished look will be like.
