About a week, as long as the item is in stock.

If Amazon indicate an estimated dispatch date of between one and two months, it is usually because the item isn't actually in stock, and they are going to take that amount of time to order it themselves.

Every item you look at has an indication of stocking levels and dispatch time.

Delivery times can be very fast - I ordered a box set of DVDs on Friday, and they arrived in my office at 9.00am this morning . I didn't use the free delivery service which I was eligible for, but nor did I pay the premium rate. Delivery, per the docket, was €2.28 including VAT.

An "in stock" item will probably get to Ireland before Christmas if you order it in the next day or so.

I ordered a camera from Amazon UK at about 10.30 on Thursday night last. It arrived this morning.

I have always found them very good and quick to deliver. By contrast, I ordered a book from CDWow on 4th December and am still waiting.

nompere is right, it means they don't have it in stock, however I have been watching items before that said dispatch would be between 1 and 2 months and some days they happen to be back in stock, I don't know if that is because they have managed to unexpectedly get them back in stock or maybe they had the item returned to them or something.
