Heard one has opened in Wilton, anybody with further info?

I know there is one in Dublin, how are they regarded as a store...good value, service??

I called in there yesterday evening. Fine store BUT it's almost identical to the Golfworks store that was there up to recently.

Very well stocked in the irons department. I didn't do much of a price check as I was rushing but they have Jack Nicklaus brand sets for extremely competitive prices. Aimed at the beginner market, I reckon. Some TaylorMade drivers greatly reduced also. Good selection of golf clothing too.

American Golf are a big chain in the U.K. They were called American Golf Discount. I was in their Belfast store a few years ago and in the Dublin one also.

I hope they do well but it's hard to see how they'll succeed where Golfworks failed.

called there fri. nice manager, had a good chat with him. he said they had a lot of clothing that they could nt get out as they were having a prob with the stock computer , so i will give it another go during the week. i walked around and bought nothing. they didnt have ladies winter gloves , which is what i was looking for. prices on bags seemed to be good i thought. but i agree it looks identical to golfworks old store.

Nice shop indeed, great bargains to be had 3 for 2 on all clothing which is very good...Much better stocked up compared to golfworks...Very open plan tho!I saw they extended the Custom Fitting Driving Bay by 2 metres..Nice friendly staff tbh, much cheaper than The Pro Shop Douglas and Mahers and a small cheper than Bobs in Ballincollig...You also can sign up for the loyalty card which you get special offers on gear and also and extra year guarentee on clubs which is handy!!

The Pro Shop on the South Douglas Road do all kinds of fitting, including club head speed etc. But as Galvin said, they aren't cheap though!

not sure what it is, but if you buy a club or clubs off them as far as i know they knock the price of the test off the bill. ronan collins one of the pros in the pro shop is very good at the fitting

pro shop give a good service as regards club fitting in my own experience but you do pay a little bit over the odds there in general,
mahers penrose wharf also can measure speed for you but I have to say the shop isn't great and also a bit pricey imo

bob's is tough to beat for value not too sure on measuring clubhead speed etc,so I guess this is where the new shop will be competing with, havent called in must do in the next week or so for a look

fota also will do a fit for you, as will charleville as far as i know, cork golf club might,Blarney Frankfield or Inniscarra driving ranges may also have a service so a few phone calls should get you sorted easily enough
