    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has a statistic on the percentage of graduates who the Big 4 employ upon leaving college. Or does anyone know where I could find such information? I need it for my thesis!

    Thanks

did you ring the big 4?

you could try ringing the firms hr departments and ask them how many students they have at cap 1, cap 2 and fae level this year

they would definitely have that information handy as they make a big thing of advertising the % of their employees who pass the ICAI exams in their recruitment brochures (claiming higher than usual passrates obv!) and to know this statistic you obviously need to have the total number of candidates as your denominator.

if they were willing to disclose that information to you then you could just total the figures they give you to get a total number of candidates in Big 4, then divide this figure by the sum of the total candidates sitting each of the exams (you could find this on the front page of the CAP 1, CAP 2 and FAE results).

That would give you a rough % anyway.

they will vary their numbers with demand - particularly on advisory areas in tax, corporate finance etc. Auditing is more constant. If you really want to know you'd have to ring them up individually to see how many they are taking on this year or as another poster said maybe ask the uni careers office.
