Great fun seeing Eddie Jordan on drums during that rendition of 'The Chain'.

I hope the Ireland rugby team gets team of the year for a fantastic year. Word on the grapevine is it may go to the Englands ladies cricket team though.

I guess they'd have to have that sort of entry for David Haye.

That James Corden from Gaving and Stacy gets around a bit, he seem to be sat next to a different person every 5 minutes.

You may or may not know that Barry McGuigan was BBC Sports Personality of the Year back in 1985...

Anyway, I guess I can't complain about Giggs winning - he has had a fantastic year, winning another Premier League crown, the PFA Player of the Year award and all. And he was second favourite behind Button, according to the Guardian newspaper.

But that's now the third year in succession that a Formula 1 driver has finished second, after Lewis Hamilton the last two years.

Formula 1 is becoming less and less relevant by the year.

This show really has gone down hill. Years ago as a kid I used to love it. It covered all major sports and did excellent reviews of all the events in the past year. Last night each area of sport got about 10 seconds apiece with most of the time devoted to a conversation with one of the "personalities" nominated.

I've no problem with Giggs winning but I always thought using the word Personality was unfortunate. I mean he's hardly winning the award for all those wonderful interviews where he said he was happy to score but the 3 points were what mattered etc.

Fabio getting Coach of the Year was the real joke. You don't even have to win anything now.

No wonder it was called the BBC Sports Review of the Year up until around ten years ago, with noticeably less emphasis on the Sports Personality award - and I can't disagree it was better then, even though I was fairly young.

But I guess it has to move with the times...
