Planning to go and see mick this new years. Think it would make a nice change for me and the girlfriend...its our anniversary aswell :)

But I am just wondering about a couple of things. The Gig is starting at 10 o clock...I expect it to be finished around 1 am...then what happens? Will the bar in the opera house be open on an extensionfor new years? Preferbly we would like to keep the party going a little after the gig :)

But if its over around one..we wont have much hope getting in anywhere else....what are our options?? Or will we just have to head home after the gig?

Any advice or opinons appreciated :)

Did you go to this gig? I'm thinking of going to see Mick this new years in the opera house. I was just wondering what the story was back then. What happened at midnight? I think it is starting at 8 thou so I would assume that it will be well over by midnight.

Hey tbx. Was chatting to Hassey, Mick's bassist after the gig in Dolan's on Friday. Heading to the Opera House myself for NYE and Hassey said that they won't be ringing in the new year - he expects they'll be finished their set around 10.30. He also said that Ricky Lynch and a few are playing in the Pavillion that same night and they will be ringing in the new year. There was something about that being 15 quid in but 10 with a Mick ticket (as long as it ain't sold out beforehand). The bands own plan is to head to the Pavillion after their gig if they can pack up on time (or get someone to do it for them!)

    Hope this helps :)

As far as I remember they did the count down and then started singing Auld Lang Syne. There wasn't much drama to it.

hey reap-a-rat, thanks for your reply/info. Only just seeing it now. That's what I ended up doing as it happens, went to the pav afterwards. Great night it was too.
