    Hi chaps,

Investigating getting PIRs into the company. We have plenty of space that doesnt need to be lit up all the time. Has anyone used a good company for installation of PIRs on their premises?

    would appreciate your feedback.

    Thanks in advance.

    C

Would it not be easier to turn the lights off if your not using them and on if you need to see?

Your relying on a bunch of people to turn them off all the time and in my experience it just doesnt work. Seriously

Believe me I know, if there not paying the bill themselves they'd leave everything on ALL the time. What kind of set up are you looking at? Lights in an office kinda thing?

Its a data centre. The lights have been on for 24 hours a day for the last 5 years. I reckon we can save a shed load of money a year If we keep the lights off for say 12 hours a day and more than that at the weekend as there is only a skeleton crew in then and wont need to enter it as much.

I worked it out, the saving, close to 2 000 a year

    so

That would hopefully pay for the PIR and then not cost as much the year after.

Have to get smart in this climate.

    Hey Cluster

Are you talking about internal PIR lights?

To be honest any good sparks should be able to do it.. Sometimes it depends on what existing lights you have in already. Thankfully those units have come down in price a lot. You could always get the sparky in to quote and you could buy the kit from a wholesaler, you'd save yourself a lot.

Good idea though, now if only all the servers could be shut off till there needed!!!

I have a the guys who look after the electrics giving me a price on it now actually.

We'd save a fortune on the the server front alright.

Why not build a server like the new BMW. It turns off when stopped in traffic. Now a server doing the same thing, any clever clogs out there..

    Thanks for the advice fella
