Actually, being powered by google linking on the iaa map is probably just a matter of putting a link in the descriptive text

In that case I'll put the suggestion to the IAA that they consider doing so. In my opinion - and no offence to yourself for going to the effort you have - something like this that provides basic information should be freely available. That aside, I get the impression that you've aimed this as a "tool" for businesses hence the charge.

I'll be blunt. Any retailer or site with half an ounce of interest will go to the effort of making sure people can find them and/or information to same regardless of this site's existence. And as a player/customer I have two options; pay €6 per month for the privilege of a url or spend a rudimentary 5 minute search using boards/iaa/google. Hmmm, let me think about that one ... I'll take option b for free bob. So the question remains; what are you offering besides rudimentary convenience for €6 per month?

Edit: oh, and by the way, I think this thread falls under 'soliciting for business'.

    Ok thats you opinion.

I wish the world was as easy as that.(everything for free).

As the site is only new i dont know whats going to happen.

Go advertise on google maps, just hoping our site will get enough hits in advertising. This is a professional advertisement. With links and Infro.

    Thanks

Ok, so if we advertise via your site, can you issue us with a VAT receipt for the business? Our accountant will want to one.

The bit about soliciting for business is not my opinion; it's qualified boards.ie moderation fact. The rest of my post is my personal opinion.

Never said everything in this world was for free; or indeed even should be. I said basic information should be freely available. Let me put it to you this way; what "if" eircom charged you €72* per year for a phonebook?

    * based on €6 per month

Best of luck with your venture; but from a commercial point of view it doesn't seem to be sitting on firm ground from where I'm standing.
