connecting at Schiphol

Hallo. Has anyone flown from Cork/Dublin to Schiphol and got a connecting flight somewhere else? I'll be going from Cork to Schiphol and then on to Seattle. I'll receive boarding pass for Schiphol in Cork so is it just literally a matter of getting off the Cork plane and going directly to the boarding gate, no passport/security checks until at the gate? Thanks!

You will still need to go via passport control/secuity check but if your connection is imminent they will whisk you through very quickly. My experience of flying into schipol from cork for connecting flight was all very pleasant and stress free!

Thanks, just a little bit nervous about it and flying alone. I'll have 2 hours before my connecting flight providing the Cork flight arrives on time. I imagine it will be an easy procedure to follow hopefully!

Depending on the gates you will be using, its a long walk - up to 1.5km. Distances between runways is also huge.

Schipol is a well-run and efficient airport and you have plenty of time to make your connection. Security is tight but you should only come across it at the departure gate. Unlike Dublin or Cork each gate has its own security so you won't be in a huge queue with everyone else in the airport!

If you're flying with Aer Lingus to connect with a KLM flight you'll be directed to your flight as you leave the plane after landing - they'll make every effort to ensure you make your flight even if you're late arriving from Cork.
