    1. Yes. One full burn heats the house and hot water for about 16 hours on these cold frosty days. One fill is about the size of your standard 100l dustbin.

    2. Approximately €5000 installed. 1/3 the price of any quote that I got from the SEI registered suppliers/installers. Value for money me thinks. I get my wood for free.

    3. I don't know how you measure wood in cubic meters - as I said, approximately a 100l dustbin full per day. I usually mix a bag of turf with this on a daily basis and the total will normally heat the house for 24 hours. I find that ash or any other type of hardwood will give you 50% more burn time than softwood. The turf burns well - lasts a good while, but leaves a lot of ash. I end up cleaning it out every second day. But I have an ashmaster and it takes less than a minute.

    4. No problems so far. Its very important that the wood is dry. It needs to be seasoned for at least 12 months and stored under cover. Also, I think my buffer tank might be a little bit too big. It is 1500l and takes 2 consequetive full burns to heat it to 80 top and bottom. In actual fact, it has never been totally filled (ie. never gone above 80 top and bottom). A 1000l tank would have been sufficient for it. It would have been cheaper and would have taken up less space. But I have what I have now and its giving me great service so far.
