    Hi,
looking for something like George Webb shoes.
The ones in the pic attached are €180!
I've had a bit of a look around the shops and I
can't find a really clean shoe like this. I havent
seen the simple design like this.

    Any ideas? thanks

George Webb, jeez there's a name from the past!
Maybe try shoeshops on Talbot St, Dublin. One is under railway bridge on southern side of Talbot St, the other is back near N Earl St on the northern side of Talbot St.

    yeah, its gas.
I used to hate them, at that time in my life all i wanted was those dodgy slip-ons and my parents made me get these (cause they lasted longer)
"A good solid shoe" was the sales pitch

They would have been 20-30 quid back then!!

It's probably just as well that you can't go to the 'stalls' that used to be on Parnell Street anymore, on the outside of the ILAC, Stella & Maggie's and the like. I remember getting a pair of school shoes there, they were from Poland, after the wall had come down, but they were still quite eastern bloc, i.e. pretty bad.:D

What you're looking for is an Oxford shoe - You can pay anything from 70/80 quid to a few hundred for them.

Clarkes (I think it's Clarkes anyways?) do them - Just get'em without any branding on the leather - they're a very plain and simple, but nice shoe.

BT's should have them too - Just ask to see their selection of Oxford style shoes :)

Church's or Barkers would have a lot in that style.

Superb service and usually a good bit cheaper than in a shop as long as you know your proper shoe size (e.g., 9.5, F-G, etc., ), I have used them before.

Actually, the photo the original poster provided was of a Derby, not an Oxford. To see the difference between the two, take note of how the lacing is integrated with the shoe in the following photos. The Oxford has closed lacing, while the Derby's is open.
