There is a hairdressers called Jeff Devine's on French Church street that has a training school over it. A few friends of mine got their hair done at the training school and it looked wonderful and way cheaper.

definatly try Guapa on Tuckey Street. Only two girls and one lad(colour specialist) work there so it really is a nice intimate, quality hairdressers. If you go on Tuesdays or Wednesdays they give a student discount.
I used to go to Peter Mark bu changed to this crowd about a year ago. I thought PM gave good cut/colours until i went to guapas. In there i dont feel like I'm on a production line, as they take there time and have amazing skills! It amazing!

Sorry about the long post. I have a freshly cut head of hair so I'm still freshly impressed with them!

I would definatly ring or call in for an appointment in advance! They were really busy last week so it's probably ten times busier this week
