I'm currently on BTEA, and i'm getting a grant aswell. Putting the whole budget thing aside for now since it ain't set in stone. I'm 22 and in first year of a 4 year lvl 8 degree. I was wondering if i was to move out of my parents house, in january 2010, and live with my gf who is also a student, more than 24km from both our colleges, would be entitled to the full non-adjacent rate next september?
Can you move out of your parents house while on the dole and begin to claim rent allowance, heating allowance and any other allowance possible? Or is there measures in place to stop children moving out of their parents home while on the dole?
I'm just trying to put myself in the best financial situation next year whilst having the freedom of my own home.

Is this a good idea to pursue or will the Social Welfare see right through my cunning plan?
