    Im loooking at buy a american version of the 3g model.

    Im just wondering is there any disadvantages of buying an american version. Is it harder to unlock if I make the mistake of updating on the itunes website?
    Last thing I want is to spend a fortune on a phone and it breaks a week later.

    Can people please reply quickly as Im going to buy today or tomorrow

    it should be the same as here afaik but it could be risky trying to get one past customs around this time of year

    to the OP, every locked iPhone are the same. None are harder to unlock than the next one.
