    Thanks in advance

i have a cybergun m4 myself, brilliant thing, have never had any trouble with it in over 4 years
i have no idea who actually made my gun( cybergun rebrand guns made by different companies )
im sure the cqb one is very good but i think one of the safest choises would be a jg g36c or something from the g&g plastica range

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 654 ✭✭✭Markom5a

    Thanks

On the g36 just not for me!!! I did look at the plastica range but I would prefer a metal aeg!!!

Also any opinion on the galil cybergun do. It caught my eye as being different.

    Appreciate the help

Dboys have very good metal AEG's. You could also try the GFC range, some models come upgraded as standard as far as I know.

Were would I find the gfc range?

I already tried to get a dboys m4 but no luck due to the Chinese clampdown!!!

    Thanks

Just bought an AGM m4 stubby killer of rsov.com for around $80 cost €190ish here! AGM just went out business tho so they wont be around for long but there amazing full metal good power few dodgey looking trades but id recomend it as a first gun if your after m4! got the whole thing for €110 including the shipping from china! a steal! they got a killer gearbox app too.

forgot to mention heres the review of it here :D

A friend has the Cybergun M4 CQBR, full metal, full trades, but uses it only for target shooting. Another friend has the same and plays. Having used it, I liked it. I normally despise M4 type rifles personally- too common and also just dont suit me- but this one was rather Nice! Its a good weapon, only bother was the mag well was a bit loose and a bit of tape around the mag, or different mags, would hardly go amiss.

Don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, but it won't be a 'steal' if it gets seized at customs when it comes into the country. The gun you have linked to quotes that it's shooting at 350fps which puts it over the legal limit in Ireland (328fps with a .2g BB). What you have just bought is classed as an illegal firearm in this country.

I would suggest contacting them asap and try to cancel the order before it is shipped. Alternatively they might offer a downgrade service although I'm not too sure if RSOV do that. This comes at an extra cost and some company's methods of downgrading are less than ideal and often lead to costly repairs when they land in your door. Couple this with the VAT, handling charges and possible duty you will be charged and all of a sudden it's not such a bargain after all.

In a nutshell, my advice to the OP is whatever you buy - buy Irish. SEA do indeed carry the GFC range although I wouldn't write off the G&G Plasticas just because they don't have metal recievers. They are a cracking piece of kit and Eirsoft and Hobby Airsoft carry a range of them I believe. If Santa hadn't already bought my present I'd be asking her him for one! ;)

RSOV do not offer a downgrade service, believe me, I've tried...
They do offer to supply a piece of paper saying that it is under 328fps, they sent me one when I asked about a downgrade.

Yeah, I didn't think they did but wasn't sure.

Piece of paper's not much use if it's sent to ballistics!

Eventually decided to write a quick reveiw for this aeg.

First off highley reccomend this to begginers cheap full metal full trades what more could you want!

I havnt skirmished it yet hopefully will soon, so this is just based on plinking.

In the box you get the aeg itself, a high cap mag, a one point sling and a foregrip.
Unfortunatley a battery or charger was not included however i was told this was a shipping error. No problems though it allowed me to invest in a good charger and batterry.

Body is full metal apart from the crane stock, foregrio and grip. All are high quality plastic(for want of a better word)

Rof is brilliant using a 9.6 nunchuck battery. Accuracy is good with the sights and hop up needing only minor tweeking.

Feel free to ask any questions

not sure what else to say but heres pics of it all together

    [note: not actual battery]

sorry for the poor quality pics camera is lost!

I am well aware of that, RSOV marks the guns as downgraded to Ireland and all is fixed with a €12 spring change. I paid €20 vat... still almost €60 cheaper than buying in Ireland. So please hold the self richious comments for someone who dosent know the law, was only trying to help new players save money. Dosent matter now anyway you cant import guns without a licence :( thank you government for creating a situation where the price of guns will be driven up due to lack of choice where to buy. I hope they realise this is the begining of the demise of airsoft to clearsoft...

1: They will only rise if retailers choose to up their prices and be robbing a*seholes. And I'd hardly say Ireland has a lack of airsoft shops.
2: *facepalm, headdesk* Clearsoft isn't going to happen, we've been over this what 8 times last year alone?

God I remember this thread!! My m4 is completley different now and more accesories are coming!

Anyway to answer the question I'm not sure Mine has a 9.6 intellect cranstock battery from hobbyairsoft which doesn't have that third part. Take a look at their website I'd link it but I'm on the iPod.

Thanks for the memories though haha

    Ha, still in pieces?

Mines currently with Lar having a bit of an overhaul (new spring, tapet plate, air cylinder, bushings, and outer barrel) so it should be firing nicely for the next time we go head to head

    Hi Markom5a.

I'm just saying now I think that the M4 you got is by Cybergun but since Cybergun rebrand airsoft rifles I think that the M4 is a CYMA. I'm thinking of getting one myself when it comes in stock on Main Irish Airsoft so is it alright if you tell me if it's any good as it would be helpful to me. Thanks.

I have to say, while it is an OK gun, I wouldn't advise it to you. Mine has given me problem after problem after problem, and I've had to put another 100-150 into it just to get it firing at a reasonably acceptable standard.

    My advice, don't get it.

I bought this gun last summer and I have skirmished with it for about the past year. This is my opinion....

    Pros:
    Its fully steel.
    Its got full trade marks.
Comes with quite a decent stock battery.
    Its got metal gears.
    Optional barrel extender.
    Decent quality hopup rubber(Durable).
    Good beginner gun.

    Cons:
Metal not of the best quality. (seam lines & the odd weak point)
    Plastic gear box shell.
6.08 Obviously not tight bore barrel.
    Poor motor.
    Poor range.
Not too hot on the accuracy either.

    Summary:
I found that its not be the most stable gun as the front RIS wobbles a lot and the crane stock isn't the strongest. While I did enjoy the gun it is quite expensive for what you get. You may get a full steel fully trade marked AEG but the internals are far from the likes of G&P or Tokyo Mauri but what do you expect for a relativly low end gun. It may come with a full metal gear set but the shell is plastic and it uses bushings instead of bearings. If this is your first gun then I'd say go for it you will have an awesome time and it won't let you down. However if you are a more serious airsofter who likes the best of every thing then stay away from this. I paid €190 for this and I looked into how much it would cost me to bring it up to the spec I want. That came to a total of €170. Not gonna happen!!

    Beginners: Yes.
Average Joe: As a second gun or a project gun.
    Avid Airsofter: No.

    Range: 5/10
    Accuracy: 6/10
    Looks: 8/10
    Build quality: 6/10
    Value: 4/10
    Reliability: 9/10

    Average: 6.3/10

EDIT: should have mentioned its a Cybergun re brand of a Dboys gun. They just add trades and re package it.

If you ordered a 1j spring in the package would Customs still destroy it or would they have it fitted?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,758 ✭✭✭Stercus Accidit

Customs aren't going to fit a spring for you, it has to be downgraded before import.

Plastic gearbox??? Dude, where did you buy this?? Yes, the old cqbr from cybergun was a dboys rebrand, but it was quite decent.

I bought it from hobbyairsoft its actually a nylon polymer gearbox to be exact but still effectively plastic. Its quite a strong gearbox considering and it has metal bushings and gears.

Really???? That's very odd.....I should mention now that I used to work for HobbyAirsoft.

In the Year and a Half that I was there, I never once saw a Plastic Gearbox (or Nylon Polymer)......on any AEG, never mind the CQBR, which is/was one of Cybergun's Flagship AEG's.

In fact, from what I can remember, being the person who was opening them up in order to downgrade them and all that jazz, they were all metal gearboxes, metal gears, metal bushings & metal spring guides with bearings (*there were a few which just had plain metal spring guides for some reason).

I must admit, I would be really interested to see the gearbox for this.

Motor that comes with them is a standard torque motor, which would be comparable to most mid range AEG's on the market straight out of the box. You are obviously looking for something which had a higher rate of fire.

Range - Again comparable to most mid range aeg's without changing hop-up rubber or going that extra expense of getting a tightbore...then again, you would have to do this with most of the higher end aeg's anyway. 6.08mm, really? Didn't think they were that wide myself.

Now this does seem odd!! i'll take some pics and post them later i'm just going from the look and feel of the gearbox but since i don't have much experience I could be wrong!

I have solved the mystery here!!! Its a metal gear box that has been painted in a thick layer of paint giving it the plastic feel!! I had to scratch some away before I got to the metal!!
