Library borrowing extended?

    Hey all,
I went online today to renew a book due on the 14th. I clicked renew and now the book isn't due until the 9th of january?

Has the library extended its lending period? It says on the website (S-LEN Hamilton) loans are for one week. Is this just a thing that happens for the christmas break so no-one has to rush up to the library mid-holiday from say cork?

when I renewed book before the Christmas break last year, I think the same thing happened. If your renewal date is into the break period you dont have to bring the books back until you start back.

Yeah that's the answer... they do that for Christmas break.

Just renewed a book I have out there, and it was also extended to January.

Signs are up that say that if you renew now you get to keep them until the library reopens i.e. over the break. Will be doing that for a few of my books.

Does that mean if I take out a book next week, I'll get it for the christmas break?
