    Hi there.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a factory built double extension and have it installed onto my existing terraced house by a builder here?

I need more space on our mid terraced house in Cabra, Dublin and my options are to get a builder to build a double extension for us, kitchen extension downstairs and move a bathroom upstairs and make a bedroom larger or teh option mentioned above?

I have a feeling that even though we are in a recession the normal extension route would be excessively priced. Maybe I am wrong and if someone in a similar house has built a double extension perhaps they could give me a ballpark figure of how much theirs cost...

P.S. Happy Xmas to all you guys :)

This may sound obvious, but as you mention it's mid-terrace, do you have enough access to the back of the property to get a pre-fab in to the back garden? If not, do you have room at the front so that you can put machinery in to crane the pre-fab in? This will add to your costs.

What kind of floor area are you thinking of? Construction costs are way down at the moment, it'd be worth getting a few prices from different builders.

A prefab extension would likely cost more than a traditional one.
