    Hi,
My laptop space is very low now, itunes library is >70MBs.
If I move it to an external HD it'll free up space but then
I'll have no back-up (currently have on laptop and external HD)
If I burn any new music I'll have the bother of having to connect to external HD each time
If I update ratings etc on ipod and want to updadte library again I'll have to connect the HD.

    What is the best solution?
Ideally I want 2 copies of the music (in case one fails) and also as easy as possible to update library etc.
Buy another cheap HD? Burn to dvd/cd (how many would I need)

    Cheers,
    pa

Are you sure it's 70 mb ? 700 mb or 70 gb maybe?

ok if you want to burn it on cd/dvd then cd should be fine upto 700mb.

best solution buy a 1 tb hard drive from eason and use it for backup and songs on pc for transfer to ipod etc.

70 Mb can't be right as it is only about 23-30 songs roughly ( depend on size).

Had the same problem. The way I fixed it was I used time machine to backup my mac. I then bought a new internal 250gb hard drive for about 50quid. Installed new hard drive and restored everything from time machine backup. It's fairly easy if you know what you're at and plenty of help on applesupport re reinstalling leopard etc. You just need to make sure you have your leopard disk.

I also installed a second drive in my laptop for iTunes.
