As an avid viewer of all types of talent competitions on TV, from Jig Gig to X factor, I have been watching Ice Starsearch on Tuesdays, which features young talent in Ireland. Don't know if anyone else has noticed, but they have talent from all catgories from male/female singers, dancers, musicians and kids singing songs from the great musicals. One interesting thing I have noticed is that none of these kids were awarded top marks from the judges, which means that none of them have progressed to round 2, even though some of them were extremely gifted.. has anyone else noticed this, and why would this be the case? Confused and curious.

Perhaps it is based on a leader board and contestants on the other shows were better. I would agree with this system it seems fairer, I have seen on other talent searches such as the ones mentioned were the contestants one week are weaker then the previous week and you know that if the contestants had been leader board based they would not have got through.

However it seems a bit extreme on kids TBH. Rules here
