posting cvs

    is it ok to post cvs to places. like i was thinking of posting a fair lash of cvs out say to different dunnes, supervalus, tescos, debenhams and what not. also going to go in personally to other places. will they just bin the posted ones or will they hold on to them until there hiring. by the way i only want part time work as im currently a student in ucc

    Many of them will bin them: I know that Dunnes want you to fill in their application form, and don't bother with CVs, would expect the same from others too.

    TBH, I'd only give a CV to a company that has a specific vacancy that you're applying for.

    Have a friend in HR management who has instructed her secretary to bin these generic cv mass mailers. She commented that people who take the time to tailor their message to a particular vacancy are more attractive candidates than those that use the shotgun approach.
