A real modification

Here u can see a real modification of a car, not just mounting a plastic bodykit or put some music in.

I got the engine and gearbox into my 1971 Typ3 Squareback.
    It's a Porsche 915 gearbox and a Porsche 911 Carrera RS engine with 207Bhp.
Breakes of the car are coming from a 3 liter Porsche 911 and it has air ride suspension in the front.

    Have a look here

Whats so real or propper about this then???

Dont get me wrong, its different, but was there any need to have a dig at people who only do bodykits or sound systems???

At the end of the day,Its just a car with a different engine in it.

Sure Ive done something similar but alot more different to that.So have others.

He might've put a Micra engine into a Porsche. That'd certainly be more unique :D

Alfa 147 FWD car converted to 4WD,turbocharged and big power with lots of carbon bodywork.Nothing much.

What you have done is different indeed, but,I just feel that your comments about bodykits and sound systems/music was not needed or called for,as we all have to start off somewhere in the begining, also thats what alot of people are into aswell.

Most i see, is that ppl mount body kits and they don't do anything for power. It's mad to have a car with spoiler and big wheels, but still little drum brakes and 1 liter engine. Then u hear them saying: look, i made all this big tuning my self.
Before i have put in a engine with 4 times power of the original, i have converted the brakes to 3 liter Porsche 911, back axle changed to Porsche 911. also the back shocks and an air ride system in the front.
I welded all body modifications, including width arches and front spoiler (spoiler needed with 230Km/h end speed).

Another front bumper ready made in plastic or big speakers are no modification in my point of view.

is the point of this thread to flame people doing exterior work to their cars or to show off your own work?

im guessing your a mechanic of some sort and that you done a lot of your work yourself? most people that do exterior work on a lesser power car are normally young and cant get insured on something more powerful so they spend money on "show, not go"

which im not a big fan of anyways but each to their own.

thats some class work dusty! dont mind the others changing the running gear in a car from a diffrent make invloves alot of work compared to sticking a couple of speakers in the boot! ecu's have to be set up fueling lots of mods to the gearbox tunnel ect.. its no 1h and half job!:D

    Couldnt agree more!!

Nice work on the car dusty..... It's nice to see people having the smarts to upgrade running gear etc! I know of a few engine transplants/adding turbos on standard internals and standards brakes.... It always baffels me!!

However I don't agree with ur views on what a real modification is!! I'm nt mad on bodykits etc but I do think that making some alterations to the exterior can make a car! And i think you have to keep in mind not everyone has the money or skill to do major mods such as yours so they do what they can with what they have/can afford/cab afford to insure afterwards!!

i think that you are a bit full of yourself to be honest that remark you made about bodykits and speakers was totaly uncalled for every one has to start someware and are just doing what they think will look good on there car from looking at those pictures it is clear that you have the all the equipment to do this type of modification but most havent and as for it being a real modification it is not up to you to say what a real modifaction is
