I went out last night. Wasn't home until four. Up at eight showered etc. as normal. Thing is I stink of booze. I did have a load last night but I sometimes I could only have say five pints and someone at work would notice.

    Anyone else get this.

I am not using today as a prime example as I had about 20 pints last night!

Are you wearing the same jacket/coat as last night?

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

No completely different set of clothes. Always happened to me. Then I try to overcompensate with aftershave.

Hmmm, well your body is still probably full of lots of beery leftovers so ideally want to try get them out.

I'd say lots of fluids (not more beer) and try sweat it out of you, maybe have your shower a bit hotter and longer, or a stint in a sauna if you could.

Try eating some chocolate as apparently it absorbs other smells.

Doing things like using aftershave and eating chewing gum enhances smell so it makes it worse.

OP I have the problem and I might only have had 3 pints the night before!

I tend to brush my teeth and then some mouthwash, have a shower and and eat and brush the teeth again, it helps lessen the smell some bit.

It's mad. As you said Keano all it takes is about 3 to 4 pints. I can live with it today as it was a mad one last night.

Excercise would probably do it but after a few beers the night before I'm not in the mood for anything but a fry and a DVD.

Do a Brian Lenihan and chew on some raw garlic, It might smell bad but it also might cover up the smell of booze.
Plus people in work will stay away, and wont get a chance to smell the drink.
If they ask about the smell you could tell them you went for a posh French meal.

    All joking aside.

Hope you didn't drive to work this morning.

No amount of garlic will fool a breathaliser or bring someones kid back.

As some other poster said, cut down on the booze, 20 pints is a bit much.

I didn't drink twenty pints but I was in double figures.

    Ah well thats alright then,

    sure its nearly Christmas.

You sound like your in your early 20's.

When you hit 30+ you wont be able to hack the hang overs.:D.

Insurgent, would ye do that every week?
The next day is hell for me after a GOOD mid week bender,

In an office after that amount of drink, Id be burning up, couldnt think straight and just want to pass out.

Hell, I suppose though the more you practice the easier it becomes :)

Your last sentence said it. Practice. I would go out every Thursday night and that usually entails Friday night and Saturday/Saturday night and then some more on Sunday sometimes.

Taking it easy this weekend though. Christmas in a couple of weeks.

I find thats its not just the beer but whereever I was drinking the night before too. Like if I have been drinking in a dingy hole then the smell is worse.

Alternatively you can try switching varying the beer you drink, that can help too (well does for me anyway).

Course, since I also went into double figures last night and I was drinking in a dingy hole, and drinking carlsberg all night I feel your pain

Work is the curse of the drinking classes.

If you can muster the energy in the morning before work to do a little exercise it helps.

I tend to jog on the spot for 10 minutes and build up a good sweat, loads of water after, shower, eat toast, drink tea, brush teeth and all is good.

Oh and there's some urination in there somewhere.

I've heard its because the alcohol is in your bloodstream and it literally seeps out of your pores the next day. the more you've had, the more will seep.

Besides the earlier suggestions of working out and building up a sweat (you'd probably need a good 30mins at least) and then showering, the other options could be to plan ahead.

Drinking less liquid should help, so maybe drinking spirits on a work night might be a good idea. I don't drink loads of it, but I've never really had much drink odour the next day after drinking wine.

apparently vodka doesn't make you reek of booze. Someone once told me that it doesn't stink when it comes out of your pores. Drink vodka:D

I find its guinness is the enemy of beer breath. Nothing says you were on the tear mid week like that stale guinness breath which no matter how much you brush is with you all day. Drawing your energy into nothing!
I struggle to get up after a night out though it does depend on the night that was in it. Had 4 cans in a friends house then went to the pub had 4 more pints. No problem. Other nights I may have a few pints and I'd be death warmed up lol.

What was your diet like the day before?

This usually happens if you havn't had a lot of fresh food. Had you eaten alot of veg and raw foods that day, its not usually half as bad.
    Prevention = unprocessed foods
Cure = coffee with loads of cinnamon shaken on top :pac:
