mintUpdate + TCDproxy WAAAARGH!

    Any LinuxMint users find any workaround for the mintUpdate proxy authentication dealio?
    Network proxy means no silly NAC countdown but darned mintUpdate gives me WAAAARGH! Where are the magical gnomes when you need them? Also anyone any tips for TCDwifi I have way more wireless settings than described on the linux wireless setup sheet 0.0

    Anyone looking for a pet gnome? Just remember a gnome is not just for christmas :)

    I'm using Ubuntu, so I don't know how much this'll help, but my wireless settings are:

    Connection Name: TCDwifi
    Security: WPA & WPA2 Enterprise
    Authentication: Protected EAP (PEAP)
    Anonymous Identity: (blank)
    CA Certificate: (none)
    PEAP Version: Version 1
    Inner Authentication: MSCHAPv2
    User Name: (college username)
    Password: (college password)

    Try typing this in terminal: 
    export http_proxy=http://yourtcdusername:yourtcdpassword@proxya.tcd.ie:8080
