Why is it...

Why is it, that when you know a certain someone, you're acting yourself and could say anything to them, but then when you see them in a different light you start acting all different? For example shy and afraid to open your mouth!
And the odd time you do, you say something really stupid!

    What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are mental forms and processes, which allow me to model the world and to deal with it according to my objectives, plans, ends and desires.

Kinda like that uneasy feeling you get when a mate tells you he's gay.

The one that makes you wonder does he/did he like/think of you?

But then a while later it's all cool

Could be that you acted comfortably only because you felt you knew them really well, and perhaps seeing them in a "different light" made you feel that you didn't know them as well as you thought you did,so you might therefore feel like you were speaking to a new person/stranger?

Don't know what "different light" you saw your friend in though. Could be alot of things.

and afraid to open your mouth!

Did you find out your friend is gay?

I'd understand why you would be afraid to open your mouth if that was the case.

There is a girl I like, shes not a friend though. See her all the time and we have a good laugh all the time etc
Then last week she said something very flirtatious and suddenly I find myself unable to be myself anymore and unable to talk to her the way I used to!

I should edit 'friend' in first post...

She said: "You have a very soothing voice, very calming. Do you calm people down a lot? Do you always give off that vibe to women?"

And then she gave me the biggest cheeky smile ever after saying it;)
