My brother in law is bringing my sister on a surprise trip to Oslo next month. It's my job to pack her bag without her knowing. Problem is I have no idea what to pack for her. Temperature at the moment is zero and snowing. Has anyone been to Oslo at this time of the year, any advice would be much appreciated.

It will be cold, so layers and thermal clothing if possible (helly hansen do a terrific range). One thing I found very important was waterproof shoes. All that snow or ice will melt on your shoes and in no time at all normal footwear becomes saturated. I bought a pair over there (and got tax back in the airport) but it may be worthwhile buying waterproof walking type shoes here.

Pack a lot of cash! It's an expensive place.

Well seeing as its a surprise and the fact that she's a bird so don't leave her without hair straighteners, foundation and tampons :D:D:D

It'll be cold over there at that time so assuming that she already has a warm wool jacket then pack the little extra's that will make the cold more comfortable. Think scarfs, beanie hats, neck warmer, gloves and even a few of those hand warming silicone packs.

However, If you are a real practical joker then this situation gives you the perfect opportunity to send your sister on a surprise holiday with only a garish pink ski-jump suit and a pair of white fluffy ear muffs.
    Surprise.....!!! :pac:

    Thanks everyone,
Glad I am not supplying the spending money, no cheap pints on this trip. I know she has some thermal stuff from skiing so I will pack those. Thanks for the tip on the shoes, Dyflin. I would never have thought of having to keep her feet dry ! I have some of those silicone heat things so I'll put those in with gloves, hats scarves etc. Ratm you have a cruel streak:D If I sent her off with a pink jumpsuit and ear muffs I would HATE to think of what she would do for revenge:D
    Thanks again everyone.
