Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Dear Parent,

I am writing to parents to partake in a web survey. I am a member of a research team from the Department of Psychology, UCD that is undertaking a web-survey of parents’ views on family life in Ireland today. These views are under-represented in the research.

This web survey will allow us to find out about family strengths and difficulties. It will also help us to develop a way to assess family strengths and difficulties in families who seek counselling. So by completing the survey, in a sense parents will be helping people in families facing difficulties and challenges.

This survey is for parents whom have children aged 4-18 years old. The survey will involve completing a questionnaire and will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary; the questionnaire is fully confidential and you may withdraw at any time.

All survey answers cannot be withdrawn after data is submitted. Your answers will be non-identifiable and only stored as a list of numbers indicating your answers.

Professor Alan Carr leads this study from the School of Psychology, UCD. The study has received ethical clearance from the ethics committee in UCD.

If you wish to read more about this study or to partake in it, please go to www.ucd.ie/psychology and at the ‘News’ link go to Survey of Parents' views on Family Life in Ireland. You may also view this webpage to verify that this study called the SCORE is being conducted from UCD.

Finally please contact me if you require any further information at declan.fay@ucdconnect.ie

Many thanks for supporting our research.

    Yours sincerely,

    Declan Fay,
    Senior Researcher
    SCORE Research Team,
