    Hey,
Dont know whether we're talking miles or kilometres but your safe to 100,000 miles or 160,000 kilometres, so Ford says.
But I'd change it sooner, maybe 90,000/145,000 miles/kilometres just to be on the safe side, you probably know what will happen if the timing belt goes!!

Is it the old 1.3 litre or the new 1.25 litre?

The 1.3 pushrod engine is very uncommon in the Mk. 5 Fiesta, and AFAIK was only in production until Jan '03. I don't even know if it was sold here (it was in the UK).

1.25 is 100k miles or 10 years according to Ford, but as YbFocus says you never really know...

The 1.3 push rod engine is a timed with a chain not a belt. The 1.25 belt should be replaced every 100, 000m or 10 years

It is a pushrod engine so it is timed with pushrods not chain or belt.

It never is. Are you 100% sure it's the fanbelt?

Check the condition of the belt, any fraying fibres.
If worn, will need changing(not a big job €10 or so for a belt)
