Hi all... this is my first ever post/question on the forum... although I have made visits to these forums over the years... I think its a great place to get information on almost anything... thanks to all who set it up!!

    now... my querry...

regarding the introduction of property tax mentioned in the budget this week... I was wondering how would this be done... that is... would the owner of the house/property have to pay this tax... or the person who is paying rent for the property??

    cheers

Almost definitely the owner. Of course a landlord would probably try to recoup this, even if indirectly through rent, but the market will dictate this. It doesn't sound like we'll be seeing this tax anytime soon though.
