    Hey guys,

my mate has given me his BB404 to fix it.
Basically he wanted new string put on it and the trebble control replaced.

So I looked at the trebble control and noticed it was very very wobbly, I picked up a new one in Waltons today but I cant figure out how the bloody hell to remove the old one.

I've tried to pull the nob out and nothing!!

Anyone have a clue how to remove the nob on this bass??????

Is there a screw on the side? If not it should just pull straight off with a bit of gentle persuasion.

Anyways whats the problem with it? Is it just loose or is there sound related issues?

Where would the screw be exactly? Around the control nob?

Its extremly loose and the trebble no longer seems to work without constant fiddling!

The only place I see screws are on the back of the body where the electronics are.

    Cheers for the help mate!

Yea around the control knob, there usually isn't one though. If that's the case you will have to give it plenty of force to pull the knob off, theres no other option, you might even need to lever it off with a screwdriver if its really tight or some bright spark has glued it (watch the finish!).

You've probably got some wiring issues on the inside though, it often happens when controls get loose and wires break off due to the movement. Open the back and have a look around the pot to see any loose connections.
