    Technically, no.

However if you do get stopped and tell them you are waiting for a test they will tend to give you 10 days to produce.

You shouldn't have long to wait for a DoE test, things are pretty quite at the moment

Are you insured with no DOE?

You can drive the van but you need to have a test date got and an appointment letter with you to prove it! not sure if its legal but most gardai will let you go seein as its not your fault you have to wait. Your car insurance dont cover you on a van. friend of mine thought his covered him till he had an accident(not his fault) but he got done for no insurance!

yea, insurance on a commercial is different than insurance on a Private vehicle, I remember looking into that before, a friend thought he was insured on my commercial Pajero because he had open driving in his private car.... turns out he wasn't

Saying that, it is still possible to insure a light commercial vehicle privatley and then there's no problem.

Insurance with no DOE.... well if you have a test booked and you can show that you have, a Garad checkpoint should't give you much hassle, but you never know with Traffic Corps.

In terms of actual insurance, I would Imagine the company will stand over you in a moderate accident, but if something serious was to happen, you can be sure they'll be only dying to find some fault to avoid paying out and all that lark.
