Buying Garmin numaps lifetime

    Hi

I have a Garmin 660 sat nav. Am interested in buying the lifetime update

This is probably a silly question but I'll ask :o

If I download the software to my laptop can I subsequently move the software over to another laptop? I am aware that I am buying the maps update for my sat nav and I can't use it on another but what about the software?

The reason I ask is that I will probably buy a new laptop next year but it won't be til the summer. I have e-mailed Garmin support but to no avail

    Thanks

Well I'm not too sure tbh. I'd say you can.
Cant see any reference on the web about it. If it was me I'd probably wait untill I heard back from the support dept before doing anything.

I think it will be fine, you usually login to your account to update as I have done with my 775t. So when you purchase that I assume you just login and you have your account update with numaps and then the option to update anytime there is new maps available

Got a reply fro Garmin this morning
You can either backup the files that you download from us so that you can then load them onto your new computer and run them on that to install the mapping, or you can download the next update on your new computer and then it will install this version to the computer. There is no real need to keep the older versions of the software when you have a newer version available to use.
