Hello, I am looking for a German Wire Haired Pointer. Prefably a puppy but would consider an older experienced dog. I have been looking on dnedeal and buy and sell, Im following up on contacts from there.
Could anyone else suggest other ways of finding a dog?

Also, can anyone recommend web links for HPR dogs? I have been on Derry Argues, which is excellent but looking for a few more to brush up on training skills.

What are peoples general opinion on the breed?

    Thanks

There were GWP pups advertised for sale in the Irish Shooters Digest this month. Might be worth a call.

I have GWP bitch she's three and a half. She has a nose like a hoover and rarely passes a bird. She's great to hold a point and a great retriever.

When she's on a bird she'll run along the scent trail and then look back at me as if to say 'what's keeping you?'

Can't fault the GWP. Get the basic training right and the rest will fall into place, they'll practically train themselves. Just give them time, even though they are a tough dog, they're very sensitive and you have to go easy with them.
