Tax Return 2008 Query

My wife had a part time job for a short time and earned about €1500 or so. We transferred allowances to her and this employment. She has not received a P60 or P45 for this and I am wondering how to show it in the 2008 return. Should I just put it down on the form that there was income from this source but not show any amount and let the revenue get the amounts from their sources??

Did your wife receive payslips? The last one for 2008 will have all the detail you need.

If you do not include the tax your wife paid in this job on the tax return, you will end up paying the tax again and it will be messy to sort out.

If she did not receive payslips, then you need to ring revenue and see if they have the information on file. If the employer filed a P35 for 2008, they will have this information.

Also, if your wife is registered for the Revenue online service you will be able to get details of everything that was deducted for that time which may make it easier.
