Hey, was looking to include a flash banner for my website. Downloaded Swish miniMax3, 21-day trial version, but its very limited. Anyone know a free good open source creator of flash files?

If you know actionscript (or are prepared to learn it (and likely mxml)), the Flex API is free from adobe.
There are some steps here for getting yourself hooked up with it using free software as an alternative to (the commercial) Flex Builder 3. Beware though, it's not as easy to use as flash, you're basically doing it all with code... but it can be done.

Alternatively Open Lazlo is being touted as a flash replacement, though I personally found it completely bewildering.

You coudl download the trial version of flash from the adobe website if its just a one off for a banner.
