Wake on Lan issue - Dell Vostro

I've enabled wake on lan on my vostro 200 so I can access the computer from logmein.com
Tested it using my netbook and the magic packet woke the computer after I put it on standby. So it works.

However if I leave the computer go into standby and wait for a while the wake on lan doesn't work.
It's not hibernation, I've that turned off. Computer uses ethernet from the wireless router. Port is forwarded

It's as though something extra goes to sleep. Can't be the router, because the netbook uses that for wireless.

Alot of laptops turn off the network card to save power, check if its doing that.

In Device Manager right click on your network adapter, choose Properties, go to power Management and choose not to let Windows turn the device off to save power.

Thanks, but not a laptop, and have done the power management thing. Something else that takes a while to kick in. XP SP3, built-in ethernet, bog standard.
