I've two showers in my house that are pretty weak. I don't want an electric shower installed as I've had nothing but issues with them when renting. I've been told get a pump fitted to improve the power from them and before ringing around local plumbers I'm wondering roughly what price I would be looking at. Also would I need to go buy the pump for the plumber to install or would the plumber normally buy it and just include the cost of the pump in the bill?

I have the same issue with my new build and plumber advised me to buy a Stewart Turner Monsoon Pump. Got loads of prices in different hardwares around home. Cheapest price was €380. Ended up buying it from a shop on ebay for €220. It was fully guaranteed and has the exact same fittings as any pump that i would buy here.

I don't have an exact cost for it as it was done with a lot of other work. I estimate it would take about an hour to plumb it in. You will also need an electrician to bring a cable to it and to connect it. Shouldn't cost you more than €100 in total for installation though.
