Kindle with Irish Times

    Hi all,
    hoping someone can help me. Just got my xmas present early (assume amazon have stockpiled in Ireland since it took a day to arrive) and I've a question re newspaper subscriptions on the Kindle2

    I have signed up for the 2 week trial of the Irish Times seeing if it is worth my while to stick to my Kindle rather than buying the paper daily. However I just received a letter to the kindle mentioning a cost of 1.99dollars to download each paper on top of the subscription cost. This would imply that the cost of the paper will be more expensive digitally than in paper format.

    However I cannot find any record of my being charged the 1.99 anywhere on amazon.com so I don't know whether it is true or not!

    Anyone got a Kindle trying this?

    Weird, I got the same subscription (I'm still using the trial period) and no letter has arrived yet

    I had the trial sub and it didn't cost anything.

    No pics in the trial (or full) sub and no simplex..

    I think the $1.99 normally applies to subscribers with US addresses who download ebooks outside the US area. Where does Amazon think you are?

    For magazines etc the charge seems to be $4.99 per week.
