    hey,

my bro has a fujitsu siemsens laptop, intel celeron m, windows xp, couple of years old, but in perfect condition, and hasnt been heavily used, mostly just web browsing , however it is running very slow , even opening up one or two apps, takes alot , i tried downloading a registry cleaner hoping it would speed it up, but i keep getting dont have right access to do it, or not a valid win32 app, any ideas on what i can do to speed it up,

    thanks

save all your files photos music pictures etc and reinstall windows xp. That's the best option by far. Other than that you could try upgrading the RAM, but really the best option is reinstalling xp.

alans right, best option of all is to go back to factory default. More than likely a virus (by the way dont use registry cleaners at all dont work, can make it worse). Other option would be to download avast antivirus and do boot time scan, just incase its a virus.
