Worried About Business Breakdown

    Hi Everyone,

My first post didn't submit so I'm a bit grrr now! - Only joking.

First of all, yes I did get legal advice, I just want to know if anyone has experience / if the following is common from my own point of reassurance.

Basically ran a magazine and print business with a friend, the whole thing went a bit bad with the recession, etc, he just didnt believe in helping clients (aka advertisers) and after getting loads of complaints, I decided to hand in my B10 and go it alone, taking some of those clients with me who felt I was really the brand that sold.

Now both B10 attempts were ignored, his solicitor even sent a letter to say, yes my friend would file it, blah blah, understanding legal implications. Eventually after three months, nothing happended and I went to the CRO with my solicitor to talk about things / legal issues. As I had resigned *During the Summer* we'll say, I was ok, but I had to file a B69 in a hurry. Now that went through *a while ago* and well, I havent heard a word back from the director to say, fine, grand whatever!

I'm not too worried as I know legally I am separate from the company, and personally I'm not that linked to him anyway, an ex work colleague turned friend, who few of my friends ever really liked (I know!). The only thing is, he is such a vindictive guy. My solicitor said I'm obviously protected by anti defamation articles, etc and I have a fairly sound base to prove general, well "childishness" on his part anyway.

I'm really just wondering, is it common in similar situations that people are actually thick enough to defame another and if they do is there any particular no no's I should remember in the moment, not to compromise anything, until the 9am rush hour of phonecalls hurts my poor solicitors head. Mainly I care about do you think it is likely to happen?

Thanks Guys, it's been having me concerned lately.
