    Hey there.
I am organising a mini festival next year in Dublin and I need to get production for 8 stages - I was wondering if you could recommend any good companies to use / do you know any private providers for the smaller stages.

    Thank you

they can provide Backline and Front of House.

Unsure about actual setups / rigging of stage's, but they'd possibly know.

be very careful who you approach on this - there are a multitude of pretenders in the event production business these days. I'm speaking from 30 years experience in this area.

Sensible are excellent at what they do but this isn't what they do.

the largest sound company in Dublin is Litton Lane, and there's nothing you'll need that they can't supply. contact Pat Crowley.

biggest lights and rigging would be Justlites, as far as I know. open to correction there. contact Ian, Alan or Paul Smith.

each if those two could no doubt arrange staging also.

staging & barriers etc. would probably be EventServ (formerly a division of SGB). contact Nog.

there are plenty more of course, in Dublin and around the country. a good way to assess them would be to get a list of events they have supplied to, keeping in mind they may have been sub-contracted by another vendor, and therefore not necessarily 1st choice.

Murt Whelan Sound is a good regional contractor based in Co Limerick. Contact Murt Whelan.

in Galway, Blacklight are a well known and respected provider. Contact Spud (I think).

    one word of warning...
beware of dj's claiming to provide production (sound, lights, staging, power distribution, etc.) just my personal opinion, but there are tons of them with cheapo Thomann/Behringer gear with no experience in live music production, and no clue of safety requirements.

I strongly recommend you hire a professional Production Manager to recci the sites, asess the companies tendering for the work, and be the buck-stops-here entity. no, I'm not looking for the gig or even available!!

    good luck with the festival!!

Was going to recommend a lighting tech and staging company who are very good, but then I realised that you couldn't even get your own logo right on the website...

A planned 8 stages in 4 months and you don't even know who to contact yet? Have you got financial or even label backing?

By far the most important point made on this thread. Hint :
No, you yourself are definitely not suitable for the job
